Ceili Dancing

-Old Courthouse Museum, 6th & Main Sioux Falls

-October 22, November 21, December 10, 2009 and January 21, February 25th, March 25th, and April 22 2010

-Admission is free and the dancing instruction begins at 6:30

-Ceili (pronounced KAY-lee) is an Irish social dance.  The dances will be taught nad moves called out.  Beginners are welcome.  Music is provided by the Sioux Falls Ceili Band which includes fiddle, flute, concertina, bodhran and guitar.  The music is cheerful and lively, and the basic steps can be learned easily.  An instructional session will be provided by Joan Reddy for new dancers before the start of each dance.

-Many of the steps and dances are alot like the Amidon material
